I have been buying stereos since the 70's and they have come along way, as far as price goes. There is only so much you can do with a stereo. This 2-channel model isn't the 4 channel I was looking for but who cares, rarely used the 4 channels efficiently anyway. With that said this is an awesome unit. I have it paired with a tape player and a cd player all Sony and it makes for a very nice system. That is the set up I would suggest unless you are younger and have no tapes from the 70' and 80's in your library, then I would leave out the tape player obviously. mI would definitely suggest this component to anyone interested in a receiver.
